Terms of Use
Last updated :
By installing or using Yumia, you agree to the terms below. They are deliberately short and written in everyday language. If you do not agree with any of them, do not use the app.
What Yumia is
Yumia is an iPhone app that helps you log meals, see your calories and macronutrients, track your weight and set goals. It is published by Nekketsu — Samantha Gonzalez, sole trader (entrepreneur individuel), SIRET 845 228 105 00043, 2 rue de l’Église, 60490 Hainvillers, France, who can be reached at the address at the bottom of this page.
Yumia is not medical advice
Everything Yumia shows — calories, macronutrients, calories burned, proposed goals, suggested adjustments — is an estimate for information only. It is not medical advice, not personalised dietary advice, and not a diagnosis.
Before changing your diet, starting a weight-loss plan, or if you have an illness, a pregnancy, an eating disorder or any health question, consult a doctor or a nutrition professional. Do not use Yumia to make medical decisions. If you feel distress related to food or weight, talk to a professional.
Estimates can be wrong
Values from a barcode or from Open Food Facts reproduce information from a third-party database, which may contain errors or be incomplete. Values from a photo or a description are computed by an artificial intelligence provided by Anthropic (Claude): they are approximate and may misjudge the food, the portion or the quantities.
That is why every result is shown before it is saved and stays editable at any time. You are responsible for checking and correcting what you save.
Use at your own judgement
You use Yumia at your own risk and according to your own judgement. To the extent permitted by law, Yumia is provided “as is”, without warranty of accuracy, availability or fitness for a particular purpose, and its publisher cannot be held liable for decisions you make on the basis of the information shown, nor for indirect damages. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law grants you as a consumer.
Third-party services
Yumia relies on third-party services with their own terms: Apple (iOS, Apple Health, App Store), Open Food Facts (product database) and Anthropic (AI analysis). Yumia does not control these services and cannot guarantee their availability or the accuracy of their data.
Free version and AI analyses
Yumia is free. The free version includes a limited number of AI analyses (photos and descriptions) per day. This number may change. Other features are not limited.
Premium subscription (coming later)
A Premium offer may later be made available as an auto-renewing subscription through in-app purchase, giving access to unlimited analyses and advanced statistics. The following rules will apply as soon as it exists:
- The price and the period (for example monthly or yearly) are shown in the app before any purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple account when the purchase is confirmed.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You manage and cancel your subscription from your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- After changing iPhone or reinstalling, the “Restore purchases” button in the app’s settings reactivates your subscription without a new payment.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, under its rules: reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your data
How your data is handled is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Acceptable use
You agree not to try to bypass the limits of the free version, to disrupt the Yumia server, or to use the analysis feature to send unlawful content or content unrelated to a meal.
Intellectual property
The app, its name, its design and its texts belong to its publisher. Data produced by Open Food Facts is published under an open licence by Open Food Facts. You keep all rights to the photos and texts you submit.
Changes and end of service
Yumia may evolve, and some features (in particular those that depend on the server or on third-party services) may be changed or discontinued. These terms may be updated; the version in force is the one published on this page, with its date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, and after an attempt at amicable resolution, the French courts have jurisdiction, without prejudice to the protective rules applicable to consumers in their country of residence. You may also use the European online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
